Crochets World ("we," "us") publishes crochet pattern books and runs crochetsworld.com. This page explains, plainly, what information we collect through this site and what we do with it. We keep this page accurate to how the site actually works, not a generic template.

What we collect when you sign up for a free pattern

Several pages on this site (free pattern pages, the tote and amigurumi freebies, the free books page) offer a free download or video in exchange for your email address. When you submit one of these forms, we collect:

Your email address (required)
Your first name, if you choose to give it (optional)
Which freebie or book you signed up for, and, if you arrived via a link that includes tracking parameters (for example a TikTok bio link), which channel referred you

This information is sent to and stored by Brevo (our email service provider), where it is added to our subscriber list. We use it to send you the pattern or video you requested, occasional follow-up emails about new free patterns or books, and, if you bought one of our books, an invitation to leave a review. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any other company for their marketing.

Unsubscribing

Our scheduled follow-up emails include an unsubscribe link generated by Brevo. You can also unsubscribe, or ask us to delete your data entirely, at any time by emailing hello@crochetsworld.com. We will action any removal request promptly.

Cookies and tracking

We do not run Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising or analytics tracker on this site. The only thing we store in your browser is a small piece of local storage (not a cookie) that remembers which link brought you here, such as a TikTok campaign tag, so that if you later sign up for a freebie we know which channel to credit. It never leaves your browser unless you submit a signup form, and it contains no personal information.

Our website host, Cloudflare, may log standard technical information common to all web hosting (such as IP address and browser type) as part of normal server operation and security. We do not access or use these logs for marketing.

Buying our books

All of our books are sold through Amazon (Kindle Direct Publishing). When you buy a book, that purchase, your payment details, and your shipping information are handled entirely by Amazon under Amazon's own privacy policy. We never see or receive your payment or address information from an Amazon order.

Community links

Links to our Facebook group and TikTok are provided for anyone who wants to join our community there. Once you follow those links, your activity is governed by that platform's own privacy policy, not this one.

Data retention

We keep your email on our subscriber list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, so that we can keep sending the content you signed up for.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle your data changes, we will update this page and change the "last updated" date above.
